The Fresh Atlantic Story
Fresh Atlantic was established in 1992 by Morten Helgesen and
Bente Sannes. We saw a possibility to develop the salmon market, and to
concentrate on value added salmon products, while others still were working
on whole salmon only.
By developing niche products for the end-user, we achieved access closer
to the consumer, and the customers were keen to develop products taylormade
for the Asian markets. This started the salmon sashimi processing in Norway
at Frøya and Fresh Atlantic were among the front runners in developing
markets for these products. Since then it has been an ever growing market
for the company.
This way of doing business we have further explored with new sources of
supply whether whitefish from Norway or Chilean salmon.
All Norwegian products are marketed under the brand STORM SEAFOOD,
while all the Chilean products are marketed under the brand OCEAN STORM.
